I like your blog photos! I was looking at it to find a picture of large grayish blue stone dogs guarding the entrance of a shrine in Kyoto. It was during a festival when they put bright red skirts on the dogs. Do you know what shrine that is? I can upload a photo for you. Thanks.

I think you meant the guardian dog was " koma-inu " in Japanese.
I'm afraid I have no idea which shrine is because there are lots of koma-inu statues in Kyoto.
I found a web site which recognised statues. if you found, please let me know. I can translate the page and let you know where it is.
